Cole & Anthony - Test Success

Click Here: Test Success through Instant Feedback!

Please help us purchase Qwizdom Remote sets to help our students better prepare for daily assessments, the state biology end-of-course test, and, of course, the SATs!

To address common misconceptions appropriately, our students need feedback—and lots of it. A set of Qwizdom remotes (which integrate with our Eno board technology) will empower students to submit answers for immediate review. They'll no longer need to wait until the next day to know if they mastered the objective; instead, instant individual feedback is given via the remote, and class data is compiled into charts and graphs that help students (and teachers) identify areas of strength and growth. Teachers can input the data into the grade book and differentiate appropriately on-the-fly, allowing lessons to be better tailored to student needs and misconceptions. And since the remotes are designed especially for multiple choice assessments, using them gives students great practice for their standardized tests, too!

During the college admissions process, entrance exams too often pose a major barrier to low-income and minority students. We currently offer a test preparation class that has resulted in gains as large as 300 points on the SAT Math and 200 points on SAT Critical Reading. Our biology end-of-course test preparation program has put our school's passing rate above the state average. The most important part of these programs is our ability to give rapid, individualized feedback to kids on their mastery of important skills—something that we could do much more consistently with the aid of this classroom response system. This system would help prepare 75 11th graders, and 150 sophomores this year, and would serve nearly 300 students in the coming school year.

TEAM Charter Schools Annual Report

Ten Classroom Projects

With this year’s Annual Fund, 10 TEAM teachers will be sharing 10 individual projects to each raise $2,500 for their classrooms. This way, your support will directly fund their projects and impact our students more directly. Visit our Annual Report to learn more about TEAM Schools and the nine other projects. We’d love your help sharing asking you to share it with friends, family, neighbors and colleagues.

About TEAM Schools

TEAM Charter Schools is a network of four KIPP schools in Newark, NJ: SPARK, TEAM, Rise and Newark Collegiate Academy. Our schools are free, open-enrollment, high-performing college-preparatory public schools preparing students in underserved communities for success in college and in life.

TEAM currently serves more than 1,500 students in grades K-2 and 5-12 and will grow to serve 5,000 students in K-12 in the next decade. We are committed to serving the students who need us: 88% of our students receive free or reduced meals, 98% of our students are African American and 2% of our students are Latino. Both our demographics and academic preparedness of our entering students mirror the district. This past year, over 90% of our high school students matriculated to college, and to date, 83% of all our students have gone to college.
